There are twelve different specializations available for the LPU Online MBA. You will complete the same courses during Semester 1 & 2, however during Semester 3 & 4 you will complete the six (3 each semester) Discipline Specific Electives (DSE) based upon your chosen specialization. A Single Specialization or Double Specialization is offered. All twelve specializations have the same fee of ₹50,000 per semester (or ₹40,400 per semester with LPU’s current 20% Student Grant).
How Specializations Work
The Online MBA page states there are a total of 102 credits across 4 semesters with 22 courses including six Discipline Specific Electives, two Generic Electives and one Ability Enhancement Course.

This means that your specialization will impact the six courses you complete, the topic of your summer training seminar and usually your capstone project. You will complete the same courses during year one regardless of which track you pick.
Single Specialization or Double Specialization?
LPU states that you can pick a single or double specialization. For a single specialization, the curriculum will be covered on the specialisation pages below. For a double specialization, LPU direct you to the Online MBA Program Guide. This can be downloaded from the Curriculum section of the official MBA page. LPU do not explain how the six DSE slots will be divided across the two specializations. We recommend looking at the Program Guide and confirming with LPU Admissions (admissions@lpuonline.com / 01824-520001).
When to pick a double specialization?
If you have a job that falls between two specializations (such as a marketing role with an increasing use of analytics or a finance role in a bank). If you want to go into depth with one specialization then a single specialization will provide you with all six DSE courses.

Are there different prices for each specialization?
There are not. On 1st Nov 2026 all twelve specializations had the same price of ₹50,000 per semester (or ₹40,400 per semester with the current 20% Student Grant). This includes the exam fee of ₹2,000 per semester and a one-off registration fee of ₹1,000. Grants may change so we recommend checking the official page on the day you pay. Can I change my specialization?
It is not stated on the MBA page whether you can change your specialization after admission. As the DSE courses start in semester 3 it is recommended to contact LPU Admissions before semester 3 starts.
