LPU Courses (lpucourses.com) is an independent information and admission counselling website. It is not the official website of Lovely Professional University (LPU) or LPU Online. For official information, visit lpuonline.com.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by LPU Courses (lpucourses.com) ("we", "us", "our"). For the purposes of the DPDP Act, LPU Courses is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data you share with us through this website. You are the Data Principal.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
When you fill in our enquiry or callback form, we collect:
- your name
- your mobile number
- your email address
- your city
- the program you are interested in
We also keep anything you tell our counsellors on a call, on WhatsApp or by email, such as your education background, work experience or preferred batch.
Information collected automatically
- Where you came from. The page you submitted the form on, the website that referred you, and campaign tags in the link you clicked (UTM parameters such as source, medium and campaign). We store these in a first-party cookie so they can be attached to your enquiry.
- Technical data. Your IP address, browser and device type, and the time of your enquiry. We use these for security and to stop spam.
- Usage data. Pages you view and how you use the site, collected through analytics cookies (see section 6).
We do not ask for sensitive information such as financial details, Aadhaar numbers or passwords, and this website does not take payments.
3. Why we use your data
- To call you back and give you admission counselling about LPU Online programs by phone, WhatsApp, SMS or email.
- To answer your questions about programs, eligibility, fees and the admission process.
- To pass your enquiry to the counsellor or admission team best placed to help you (see section 5).
- To understand which pages, ads and campaigns bring people to us, so we can improve the website and our marketing.
- To keep the website secure and prevent fraud, spam and misuse.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Your consent
When you submit the form, you consent to us using your data for the purposes in section 3, including being contacted by phone, WhatsApp, SMS or email about your enquiry. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to hello@lpucourses.com or by telling the counsellor who contacts you. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. Once you withdraw it, we will stop contacting you and will delete your data unless we must keep it by law.
5. Who we share it with
We share your data only as far as needed to help with your enquiry:
- Our admission counsellors, who call or message you.
- Partner admission teams, including authorised admission partners of the university, when you want help applying.
- Service providers that run the website and our tools for us. These include website hosting, form and workflow automation (for example Pabbly Connect, which passes form enquiries to our counselling team), analytics and tag management (for example Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager), and our phone, WhatsApp and email services. They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, when the law or a valid legal request requires it.
Some service providers may store or process data outside India. When they do, we rely on their contractual safeguards and follow any restrictions set under the DPDP Act.
6. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files saved in your browser. We use:
- Essential and first-party cookies to remember the campaign and referral details of your visit so they can be attached to your enquiry.
- Analytics and advertising tags, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to measure visits, form submissions and ad performance. These providers may set their own cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work, but we may not be able to tell which campaign brought you here. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data for as long as we need it to counsel you about your admission. This is normally up to 24 months after our last contact with you. After that, we delete it or anonymise it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. If you ask us to delete your data earlier, we will (see section 8).
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you, and who we have shared it with.
- Correct, complete or update data that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your data when it is no longer needed, or when you withdraw consent.
- Withdraw consent and stop calls and messages from us.
- Raise a grievance with us about how we handle your data.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to act.
To use any of these rights, email hello@lpucourses.com from the email address or with the mobile number you gave us, so we can confirm it is you. We aim to reply within 7 working days. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data. These include encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls and only giving access to people and providers who need it. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure. If a data breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
10. Children
Our services are meant for adults aged 18 and above. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you. We do not knowingly collect data from children without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian. We also do not track children or show them targeted ads.
11. Other websites
Our pages link to other websites, such as the official LPU Online website. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with its effective date at the top.
